We all hop in the boat and we go out towards the middle of the lake. When we get to a flat area, I put my life jacket on and we throw the knee board into the water. I was apprehensive, yet excited. I had never done anything like this. I jump into the icy cold water and hop on the knee board. I put my thumb up to signal that I'm ready and the boat speeds off. The rope attached to the knee board goes from slack to tight in a matter of seconds and in an instant, I am being pulled with the boat. I don't move for a bit, thinking over what I have to do. I struggle to stay balanced while opening the strap, putting my knees in, and then closing the strap again. I thrust my arms out to grab the handle that has been attached to the board. Once I take it off the board, I suddenly feel the tension of the boat pulling on my arms. I look around at the gargantuan mountains and pristine forests and I slowly realize I am tipping a lot. I feel the water grasp the board and pull it under. I slip out and come up to the surface with a big smile. "Let's do it again!"
That experience was one of my all time favorite things that I have done and makes me want to take a break from the electronic world and be around nature even more. Something like that would never had happened if I never went there, I might've never tried knee-boarding and realized that I loved it so much. When the opportunity comes, put down your phones, tablets, computers, and go take a break in nature.
