In chapter 20 in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom takes the blame for two things that he didn't do without any protesting or groaning. He first takes the blame for the spilled ink on his notebook, a crime he never committed. Once the instructor in going down the line to see who looked at his anatomy book, right as he was getting to the culprit, Becky Thatcher, Tom announced that he did it and took the punishment for Becky. He accomplished his mission of winning Becky back by doing so. I have had someone take the blame for me. When I was seven, I took more cookies after everyone had gone to sleep. My parents found out someone did it because there was a bunch of crumbs around where the cookies were. My sister took the blame and I was very thankful of her for doing so. Helping someone out by taking the blame for them is one of the kindest things someone could do.
